Pain + Crime = Human Trafficking

When people think of crimes, most do not think of human trafficking. Human trafficking is the fastest growing and second largest criminal enterprise in the world. Most of the time, human trafficking is run by organized crime. There are an estimated 27 million adults and 13 million children trapped in slavery at this moment. Approximately 20,000 individuals are trafficked here, in the United States from other countries every year. This is small number compared with other countries. With help, we can end human trafficking once and for all!

Facts about Human Trafficking

Many people do not know that human trafficking exists, but it does and the word need to get out. Trafficking primarily involves exploitation which comes in many forms, including: forcing victims into prostitution, and subjecting victims to slavery. It is estimated that there are approximately 27 million slaves around the world, and about half of them are under the age of 18. An estimated number of 30,000 victims of human trafficking die each year from abuse, disease, torture, and neglect. Most of the deaths come from sex slavery, about 80% of those sold into sexual slavery are under twenty-four, and some are as young as five years old. The trafficking needs to stop. With everyone’s help we can end human slavery once again.
