Human Trafficking is the 2nd largest and fastest criminal enterprise in the world. There are approximately 27 million adults and 13 million children that are victims of human trafficking each year. Approximately 30,000 victims of human trafficking die each year. Around half of the trafficking victims around the world are under the age of 18. More than 2/3 of the children in human trafficking are abused by their traffickers.

You may not think that this happens in the United States but it mainly occurs in the states of New York, California, and Florida. The average age of a young girl being trafficked is 12-14.

Family members often sell their children for money. Many poor countries do this or the children turn to prostitutes for money.

Belgium, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Thailand, Turkey, and the U.S. are ranked high as countries of trafficked victims.
