Unity Is the Key

30 Apr

Slavery is an unjust thing that is happening all around the world. Imagine your sister, your mother, or even your best friend getting overworked and tortured. They hate life to the extent that they want to kill themselves. No one should ever be ‘owned’ and tortured like this, and slave owners just don’t get that. God made us all equal. So many people want to speak out against this cruelty, but they don’t know how to. Nothing will happen if we all just watch. We need to take action quickly. Some studies show that in 25 years, if everyone comes together to stop this cause, modern slavery will be abolished. You can buy jewelry from All money goes toward helping these modern day slaves, and this is an amazing way to help these people.

When Will Justice Arrive?

Slavery is unjust. It’s immoral, and no one should be “owned”.  Everyone should be treated equally. Many pets are even treated way better than slaves. Modern slavery is happening all around the world, even in the United States.

Why was the United States founded by our ancestors? They wanted a country where everyone could be free, where everyone could live as they pleased. Yes, at the time they had slaves too, but eventually, slavery was abolished because everyone realized it was not right. They figured out that everyone has the right to control their own lives.

If slavery was abolished so many years ago, why is it coming back? I believe one of the biggest reasons is poverty. Poverty pushes parents to give up their children. They think their children will have a better life if they send them to work somewhere else. The exact opposite happens. Children get sold to cruel owners who overwork and beat them.

You might think that one person will not make a difference. That may be true, but if that one person would spread the word about modern slavery, then thousands of others will join the path to righteousness. One way to spread the word is to buy bracelets from The money for these bracelets goes to helping the slaves. No one is safe. These cruel people are out there, everywhere.

The Reality

11 Apr

You might have heard about human slavery, but do you know the facts behind the concept?

The facts

  • What exactly is slavery? It’s when someone is forced to work without pay. They cannot walk away because they are “bought and owned.” Most are overworked and beaten.
  • Human trafficking is modern day slave trade.
  • 600,000-800,000 people are trafficked internationally each year.
  • Think a slave is expensive? Think again. Ninety dollars is the average cost of a human slave.
  • Slavery is illegal in all parts of the world, but it is happening everywhere.
  • India and African countries hold the majority of the slaves in the world.
  • There are 27 million slaves in the world today. If something is not done quickly to help these poor slaves, this number will go up.
  • Although you may think the U.S. doesn’t have many slaves, 14,500-17,500 are brought into the country each year.
  • 80% of these are women and children
  • 1.2 million children trafficked every year.
  • There are 27 million slaves worldwide.
Shocking, huh? Knowing the facts makes you realize how serious the matter is. Human slavery is not a trivial thing, and major steps need to be taken to stop it.

Proceed to the Future. Don’t Go Back to the Past!

I think human trafificking is a big issue whether it’s labor slavery or sex slavery. Human slavery is not just bad, but it’s cruel and inhumane. No one has the right to own someone else, no matter how much power or money they have. How would you like it if someone took you away from your home, your family, your life, and made you work day and night. You don’t even know who you are anymore. It’s one thing to overwork slaves, but many slaves get abused, hit, and whipped.

Are we going back to the times before Abraham Lincoln? Instead of moving forward, our world is moving backward. If we are going back to the past, then when will the future come? Not many people know about the immense number of human slaves out there, and those people might not care about slavery because they don’t think it’s a big issue. I used to be one of those people, but now I know better.

Many of these slaves are children! Restavecs, or child laborers, in Haiti work day and night. I found a video on Youtube, and the restavec’s aunt owned her. She was so cruel. If the child didn’t do what she was supposed to, she get beaten or had to kneel down on a cheese grater. If not humanity, the aunt should have at least thought about relationships. She was doing this to her own niece! Imagine your little sibling covered with bruises and scars with barely any clothes to wear. They don’t want to ever wake up from their sleep because life is so horrible. What if that was your mom or dad? You couldn’t even think about it for a minute, could you?

Slaves are getting treated very badly. They get overworked, and if they don’t do their work like their owner wants them to, they get mistreated. I want to end this as quickly as possible, and it is possible if people come together and do something about it.
